What is Carrier Oil?
A carrier oil is a fatty oil usually derived from the seeds, nuts or kernels of a plant by cold pressing them. They tend to be referred to as vegetable oils, base oils, or fixed oils. The purpose of carrier oils is to dilute essential oils and carry them onto our skin. Carrier oils compared to essential oils are diluted to keep the therapeutic properties of the oil while getting rid of the irritation to sensitive skins in essential oils. Carrier oils can be used through massaging onto the skin, as a direct cleansing, mix with essential oils to reduce irritation to sensitive skins.
